''NEWPORT'S INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH''

EXHIBITION 

Friday I went to the launch of the 'Institute of Mental Health' exhibition in Newport, South Wales. I was really impressed with the work on show as half was fine and delicate (not my kind of thing) whilst the other half was more abstract and modern (just my thing!)

My favourite was the Fuerza Cristina Macri 2011 by Luke Pomphrey (the last two pictures). Anyone who comes here often would understand that this type of art is what I love - hence why I was enjoyed the exhibition so much!

I think from now on - I'm going to be going to more and more art and design galleries as they're great to get inspiration but also to see the range of work out there at the moment!

NEWPORT UNIVERSITY EXHIBITION.

 Today I went to Newport University Exhibition and saw the Graphic Design exhibition (which was amazing!) Everyone's work was so different and presented so nicely too. I went with my two friends who studied there were showing their work, so I popped down to see how they got on etc.
None of the work shown in this post is mine - I completely forgot to get the names of the people who did it.

CIRCUS FONTS

Saw some people use some circus fonts that I blogged about earlier. I think circus fonts are starting to become more fashionable now, especially with it being used in a leaflet (the last picture below, in pink). The fonts used are Cast Iron and Circus, both look really nice! 

Since I have started blogging about circus fonts, I have noticed it being used a lot more, probably a coincidence but I think its becoming more pops now!

MORE HCA SUMMER EXHIBITION - ARTS

 I'm not sure if I am allowed to do this - but as I was printing off today, I walked through the Summer Show in HCA and saw a few pieces that I really liked. I don't know who did them but they're really nice, quite quirky and really different.

HCA:SUMMER SHOW

 This week was the launch of the HCA Graduate Summer Show. The turn out was amazing and everyones work was beyond good! I didn't have chance to take many pictures as my camera only allows me to take 10 pictures now (WTF!)
Here are some pictures I managed to take today of whilst I was waiting around and greeting the visitors. Admittedly I didn't put much work up as I was rushed for time but then again, my style is minimilistic and simple. If I could of, I would of done a bit more and added some more work - but over all, my board looks better in person than it does in the photos, but still - a great show!
I'm going to the Newport University Graphic Design Graduate Show so will be posting about it here and would be great to compare works with them.
